A concerned resident of Ikorodu. Mr Seun Elesho, has again expressed his displeasure at the hardship which the incompletion of the Ikorodu – Shagamu Road Project has been causing residents, motorists and other road users seven years after the commencement of the rehabilitation.

Elesho, who has been monitoring and commenting on the road project, especially at the end of it, again took to his Facebook page today to express the difficulties being faced by motorists from the Ikorodu Garage Roundabout to the Sabo Axis.

While stating that the construction giant handling the project, Arab Contractors has resumed back on site, the concerned resident was not enthusiastic that any meaningful work would be done going by previous experiences.

“Arab Contractors returns to the site. The Ikorodu-Shagamu road which was initially planned to be completed in 2 years has effectively been under construction for seven years, with different holidays in between.

“Driving from the Ikorodu roundabout to Sabo has been a great difficulty that people have to live with in the last few years. It was just two weeks ago that the bad portion of the outward Sabo to the Ikorodu Garage was given a facelift.

“From what is happening, it does not appear that the section of the road from Sabo Roundabout to Ikorodu Garage will get any attention.”

The concerned citizen and resident elaborated, “Better still, let us cross our fingers to see what is in stock for the small portion of the road that has been left unattended in years,” he said with reservations.
